Yongguk nodded to himself before realized that she couldn't hear him do that. "Got it!" Two spoonfuls of sugar and the same of powdered creamer were dumped into a mug before he poured the coffee in, gave it a stir and let it all come together as he used just creamer in his own coffee.

"Hm?" He offered out the mug to her as he exited the kitchen, made sure to come close so that she wouldn't have to try to reach too far. "You're a guest, you don't have to help with a thing. Are you hungry? I'm not the best cook but I could put something together."

"Thanks." With a grateful smile, she took the cup of coffee and held it over her knee a moment to let it cool down. "I'm alright with just coffee." Scooting over a little, she gesture to the space beside her for him to sit as well. They had crossed paths on multiple occasions without really having many opportunities to talk but there was something comfortable about Yongguk's presence. "It's funny how you can get it right on the first try and he never remembers how I like my coffee," she said with another small laugh after her first sip of coffee. "It's just what I didn't know I needed, thank you."

Yongguk mumbled a you're welcome and ducked his head in thanks as she made room for him to sit- he sank down onto the plush cushion slowly, stretched out his legs with a quiet sigh. He took a sip of his coffee, turned his gaze toward her.

"He doesn't remember?" he asked- he couldn't say he was surprised, really, but more concerned. "You deserve better than him, you know." Not him, he would never be so presumptuous, but his roommate was basically utter trash. No one deserved to be in a relationship with him.

"Do I?" Yoonji had a half-smile on, cupping her coffee with both hands while she looked into it with her mind elsewhere. She wasn't the presumptuous kind either and didn't feel like she deserved 'better' than him. They had been together for so long, Yoonji honestly didn't know what could be better or what else there could be for her. She was a simple girl after all, easy-going and just as easily happy. She didn't usually think about it in depth.

"What about you? Don't you deserve better?" She was looking around, at the small apartment, wondering how a guy like him didn't have more from life. She could understand her boyfriend being stuck here, he wasn't serious about anything but Yongguk had always seemed much more responsible about everything.

A quiet laugh left him at the question she truly countered with, and he shook his head slightly. "I was gone for two months, have to rebuild my reputation and my bank account before I can move." He shrugged a shoulder- he'd still paid all of his bills, but having to leave all of the sudden for a family emergency meant that things were still calming back down. Did he want to move to a place of his own? Certainly. If he could just sell a few more songs, then he could afford it from royalties and his bartending salary. "Someday."

"Tell me," she asked with a small elbow nudge his way. " What do you want?" Yoonji spoke softly, always, and with an encouraging smile. She took a sip of coffee and pulled her legs up to rest them beside her instead, getting comfortable for their little conversation. She knew he was a bartender of course but the rest was a bit of a mystery and she was feeling curious.

He arched a brow at the nudge but hummed, looked thoughtful for a beat before responding. "I want to be able to support myself just with my music, but that's a long way off. I want to get away from that asshole I call a roommate. I want..." He worked his jaw, sighed out through his nostrils. "Most of all, I want to make my mother proud."
