last night is a blur.

minha thinks she'll blame the wine she'd had at dinner - then the champagne they'd toasted the bride-to-be with. her memories of the evening are unreliable, patchy: but the dryness in her mouth can only be the result of several shots of Jäger, and the pounding on the side of her head? that's tequila. morning light filters through white sheets and she knows, she knows better than to mix her liquor. with that being said (thought) - where is she, anyway?

she tries to retrace her steps mentally, and the memories slowly return. bar-hopping with the girls, getting more and more drunk with each sketchy pub they'd hit. they'd collided with a group of guys last night doing the very same thing they were - a stag party for one of their number, what was his name? mark. tall guy, kind of mousy. looked entirely too young to be getting married already.

one of them wasn't as boisterous as the rest. he'd stood quietly by, arms crossed over his chest, smiling a knowing smile minha had felt desperately drawn to. they'd all toasted each other, bought round after round... and at the end of the night, whenever that was, she'd told him her name, she'd told him...

"spend the night with me."

fingertips trace up her abdomen and minha tenses, involuntarily. she lets out a long, low breath, hardly daring to look behind her for the owner of the hand pulling the edge of her camisole up, inch by inch. what was his name again? invited a man up to her hotel room and she can't remember anything past the smile. her gaze drops to the wrist resting now on the curve of her hip, and minha purses her lips together. maybe he's not even awake.

"um..."
