“It’s getting late,” she whispers, her voice barely audible over the sound of the crackling bonfire and the ocean waves gently lapping at the sand. Her body shifts closer to his, hugging him tightly around his waist.

There’s something peaceful about the beach at night, as though her worries are washed away with the grains of sand and tiny pieces of shells, swept into the ocean and far away from where she and Jaebum sit, cuddled up together. He feels warm against her, and also like a sturdy rock that keeps her from drifting away.

“Can we stay here forever?” Yura asks, her body shifting so she could look up at him. She doesn’t want to go home, not when that means she’ll be leaving his side and have to deal with thoughts of asshole guys that mistreat her. Being with Jaebum, one of her closest friends, was a better option. “Please?”
